Knightsbridge

Knightsbridge takes its name from a bridge where two knights fought to the death in a duel & today is home to some of the most successful people in the world & offering the finest in culture, fashion, shopping, cuisine & lifestyle that one could dream for. The first £100 million property was sold in Knightsbridge in 2007 at One Hyde Park which overlooks both the splendors of central London’s largest green space and the most exclusive shopping streets in the UK where at Harrods, at over 1 million sq ft. one can purchase almost anything within its walls & if not, the management will find the treasured item & deliver, in the finest tradition of British service.  Knightsbridge is also home to the finest Michelin starred restaurants such as Petrus, Wareing at The Berkeley, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal & Zafferano. Two families of the British aristocracy largely own the area: The Duke of Westminster owns a large area with mainly white stucco-fronted houses & The Earl Cadogan estates hold numerous Queen Anne revival red brick properties, each with their own distinguished & unique character.

Past & present notable residents include  Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich;  trendsetter Charles Saatchi; designers Valentino & Tom Ford & film stars Hugh Grant, Sean Connery & Joan Collins. Sir Ian Fleming (creator of James Bond) & Princess Diana were both brought up in the area.

KNIGHTSBRIDGE PROPERTY – Extremely grand, Knightsbridge Property appears in a wide range of styles, sizes & feel. Its lofty streets & lovely houses are some of the best around: this is an area where many embassies are found after all. Much of the living space consists of huge & opulent family sized apartments in large serviced blocks. They are found all over the area but most notably on Hyde Park & Sloane Street & are redbrick mansions which are superbly maintained & fitted. Houses, when they are available at all, are found around Brompton Square & nearby – often Georgian or mid 19th C houses which are  tall & incredibly elegant. There are also some understated yet lovely, little mews cottages on the way towards Kensington & Chelsea.
